Reporting from Nantes

Last weekend, Baby Emeline, you were the starlet. It all started by a surprise visit to my kid sister - that’s Mommy to you - on Friday and climaxed on Sunday by a nice family lunch (with wine, cheese). We were all thrilled to see you, hold you (although I didn’t get to do that… Anne-Lise was probably afraid I’d drop you. Tssss), and watch you eat ‘n sleep. You sure know how to live an easy life.
On the picture above, you can probably recognize Mom and Auntie. Auntie came all the way from Paris (busy Parisians you know) to visit you and she & Uncle Ol’ brought you a nice squeaky giraffe. Apparently our grandmother used to do that. I don’t remember all that well.

The other highlight this weekend was Dad’s (that’s Granddad to you, or Papy, or Oldy…) behavior. He’s probably the gooiest one around you and is fluent in baby language. I even filmed him talking to you. Yep, I’m sure you’ll want to see that.

Oh, and Pop Stéphane is apparently hunting down paper clippings that were published on your birthdate, just so you know what the world was up to when you popped out of your Mom. I thought I’d join in the war effort so here’s my contribution:

In the meantime, tuleelooo, arrivederci!

Pop Stéphane snaps some extra pics!

Here’s a new set of pictures Stéphane took. Emeline is now a couple days old, lost some 10% of her weight (which is normal, according to Stéphane) and Anne-Lise is back on track. Sturdy stuff!

As usual, all you need to do is click on our feature photo to access the corresponding album! Enjoy the pics, and feel free to leave any comments for the happy parents to read.

There she goes

On this day, at 4PM WEST (Western Europe Standard Time), my favorite little sister gave birth to my favorite little niece:

Emeline.

The baby weighs some 4.185 kgs (9.2263457 pounds or roughly 0.6590247 stones) and wasn’t in a hurry to be born. My sister had to go with Caesarian. But apparently, everything’s all fine.

I will post pictures as soon as I get some.

The shrewd observer will note our spy made a wild and wrong guess as to the baby’s sex. It’s a she, not a he, but does it ever matter!!!

Situation Update

Live from our Ipswich headquarters, Friday October 7th.

Baby Genius is still happily inside his mommy’s womb much to the latter’s dismay who thought she would be able to do some wild shopping this weekend - out for the fall collection in the busy streets of Nantes.

But our four-legged creature has decided elsewise and thought being born on a Wednesday wasn’t quite what he/she was looking for. Thus delivery date is postponed for the time being to a further still undetermined happy day hopefully this October. In our modern-day world, some customers would start complaining about the delay and consider suing the practicioner…

Rumor has it our Baby Genius is a boy. We sent a special reporter in Nantes, Loire-Atlantique to try and break the secret the happy parents have been trying to conceal.

Special reporter David came back from two weekends in the parents pious home with vital clues as to the baby’s sex. Indeed it would seem the parents tend to refer to the born-to-be as a he. The Merriam-Webster dictionary shrewdly points out the use of this pronoun reflects the masculinity of the subject.

Furthermore, down the two-room appartment, rue de Gigant, blue seems to be the latest fashion. Indeed, our secret agent managed to spot a blue baby bath tub, secretly towed away under the baby’s crib. Unfortunately, the latter had no indication as to whether the baby would be a girl or a boy.

We are all eagerly waiting for extra news from the Britanny capital.

Live from Ipswich, Dude.
