A Baby Emeline Report on Bits and Pieces from the Holy Season

Hi everyone, it’s me again, Emeline, you my uncle’s niece! Well it’s been a bustling busy year over the past twelve-odd months. I turned one just a few months ago. Boy oh boy are birthdays exciting. But… I’ve a nagging feeling I’m getting cheated out of a few dates. What I mean is that when I was just a wee baby (wee-er than now) my parents would celebrate every last month (not to mention week). And now all I get is one birthday? Oh what a joke!

Anyway, Christmas came round again. I didn’t get to see Santa this time. I guess freezing fog had the best of Rudolf and the other reindeers. I still got some very cool stuff like a wooden house from my older uncle - it’s got holes in the roof. Then again never trust the construction of a house to a newly doctored litterature professor. He’s bound to end up like Buster Keaton in his rotating house.

I guess one of the best bits was when I was crowned Queen of all of… well er queen of, queen of. Hmmm can’t remember. But the cake was good and the crown was just fun to throw to the floor. That is, so long as Grand Pop picked it up. Aaah adults, you’d make them do anything, right? He even lent me this very nice little round ring to play with: lordette of the ring. Fancy huh? Well then just as I was about to taste the deliciously looking ring, he snatched it away from my little hands and I felt quite upset.

Then came the time for the grandparents and Uncle D. to leave. Although I was sad to see them go, I was still thinking of that ring and merely gave each of them a pout (a pout a day bring a lot of presents, it may)
